how the day started...
happy...
&
exciting...
&
carefree...
(my mom dressed jones up in this pink apron to play in this very pink room/kitchen that belongs to my cute cousin pictured above)
how the day progressed...
adventurous...
then...
very very anxious...
then...
frustrated...
then....
(our "loot" from the swap meet we found in oceanside... including our giant peaches and nectarines)
then...
satisfied...
finally...
we got to pick brent up... not around 12 noon like we thought... but 5:30pm... at least we got to see him... take him with us... and have our hotel accidently give us a whole plate of yummy and very delicious chocolate dipped strawberries...
at least we got to take brent out to dinner, relax by the pool, enjoy the farmers market and borders books all before having to take him back within only 22 hours...
he had to report at 3:30pm...
(august 23rd 2009)
but then... as i dropped off brent i was lucky enough to be able to meet my cousin who recently graduated as a recon marine... we were able to go to the beach for a short time and catch up on each others lives... and jones loved playing in the sand...
for the full story see the small print below... it is mostly because i want to remember... but if you are interested see below...
warning... i wrote the below story while waiting for brent, i knew that i was going to see him in less than one hour, so i was happy but still very anxious and frustrated...
(august 24th 2009)
and of course we made the whole thing better by going to disneyland the next day...
this kid deserves to go again and again... poor little guy... when brent had to report back and jones saw his daddy walking away he began to cry... i hated that moment... it is hard enough for me... but seeing your child sad because his father has to leave... that is heartbreaking!!!
i am so thankful for how well behaved he is... such a good little guy that takes care of me... i would take him to disneyland everyday if i could and we would do nothing but ride dumbo all day!
that is his favorite...
just ask him...
"jones, do you like disneyland?"
"DUM-BO!!!"
