a wedding, some fish and donuts...

my cousin jason was getting married... so we made a trip to utah for the special occasion...

first stop... a sinclair gasoline dinosaur in st. george...

the lovers...

a little background... they met in a college class... he didnt have his book... she did... they shared...  

then...

he found out she worked at beyond glaze donut shop... he wanted her number... he doesnt like sweet things... including donuts... but he still wanted her number... he would go to beyond glaze and buy boxes of donuts at least once a week just so he could see her more than just class time... she finally wrote her number on one of the boxes of donuts... 

then...

they got married...

and these are the CRAZY yummy donuts that we had to try since we heard their story...

our two favorites ::

a maple bacon donut... 

i know... everyone thinks... ewwww... gross.... but it was seriously so so so good... close your eyes and now think of eating a yummy pancake... with maple syrup and delish bacon all at once... ok... now that is what this donut tastes like... its a breakfast donut and the p b & j can be for lunch...

ending the night by leaving the reception in the state troopers police car... jones was a trouble maker... or my uncle is a state trooper... which one do you think is true??

the next morning we went to visit my grandpa and grandma mikesell... more greats for my kiddos...

crazy to think about that there are four generations right there...

then we went up to park city for the afternoon...

going up the ski lift... jones was not at all sure about this... after we got off and hiked over to where the alpine slide started i put our car on the track and turned around to get him, to find that he was running back up the hill... he didnt want to go and wanted to ride the lift back down the mountain...

but by the end of the ride down the slide... he was ready to go again...

then he climbed another mountain...

and then a spiders web...

thanks to my aunt and uncle who let us come and hang out for the afternoon at their awesome condo in park city... we had fun swimming and going to dinner!!

after a fun morning (no pictures {frown}) of hanging out with my aunt, cousin and their kids we drove a few hours south to go to the cabin...

both jones and ellis loved the 4-wheelers...

she fell asleep in seconds as we drove to find the perfect fishing spot...

then... later that night we went to a rodeo...

these kids have the best times together...

and for whatever reason... today i thought of how sad it will be when they are not living so close...

i should stop typing now... because i am about to cry thinking about it...

no they are not moving yet... and neither are we... but it will happen someday...

and i need and want to document what wonderful times the have together...

and what an amazing aunt and uncle shauna and justin are...

:: sleep over ::

jones wasnt so sure he wanted to stay without us... but as soon as we got to the hollobaughs he knew he didnt want to leave... they had a fun sleepover the night before they wouldnt see one another for a week and a half... we left for a week to come back to them being gone on their own vacation... and that is a long time when you see someone almost everyday!

and it is sights like these that make me happy... them going crazy on shauna piano... even when they both know they arent supposed to... but shauna took pictures of them doing it anyway...

torrey pines...

i love these kids together...

they have so much fun... and love one another so much!

we had fun hiking torrey pines something that i have wanted to do for so very long!

im so happy we finally did it!  it was so beautiful!

this reminded me of hawaii... blue for as long as you could see... made me "homesick" for hawaii... what do you call it when you are homesick for somewhere that isnt your home???

she loved it!  slept the whole time...

it was so pretty... crazy vegetation... then out of no where the blue blue ocean!

i hope we go back!

7-eleven

because ellis had just been born... we were not able to leave the hospital on 7-11 [july 11th 2011] to get our free slurpee from 7-eleven

but we finally made it on august 6th... no special meaning for that date... but it took us long enough...

jones was a happy boy!!

this guy is serious about his slurpee...

makes me smile...

and funny thing about the glasses... i bought those for him over a year ago... he thought they were alright but didnt much care for them... until recently... he "needs" them all the time... sometimes when it is dark.... or while he is trying to watch a movie in the car... sometimes in tears because he cant find them...

he is funny!
