sister elaine dalton

we had one of the most awesome experiences this last saturday. the 24th of feb. we went to obregon for a meeting with all young women presidencies, young men presidencies, primary and relief society from the surrounding area stakes. the picture here is the 2nd counselor of the young womens general presidency. she is one of the most awesome women in the world. i loved just being in her presence; she was so happy and loving to be around. she spoke to us about the young people of the church and how important they are. brent and i both left the meeting with a feeling of accomplishment for what we have done so far and what we need to do in the future to help as much as we can. i cannot say or express enough how wonderful it felt to be there with her, sister elaine dalton, and the other leaders that were present and spoke to us. we also had the wonderful opportunity to hear from brother/president grow, the area president that speaks directly with elder bednar, who is directly incharge of mexico north. wow... i could go on forever! we loved it. and what a testimony booster. i wrote to my brother that is in panama on a mission, and told him, this is how it must be in the mtc... that these wonderful people speak to you, and give you encouragement... that knowing that these people walk and talk with our prophet weekly and monthly, wow... i will leave it at that... love you all!

good ol mexico

here is a good map to see how far we went. from guaymas (straight west from hermosillo on the coast) to guadalajara, then even further to morelia.. and then even further to patzcuaro, santa clara and cuanajo (which are not on this map, but only about 2 more hours south). we found many things for our new furniture business 'sonoran interiors'. it is all very exciting. the only part that was sad, is that we were so close to queretaro, where i did my first study abroad. i wish we would have had extra time to visit, so i could show/share that place with brent and my parents. someday... i love southern mexico...

junk food

while on our trip i decided that my two most favorite junk food candies are:

peanut butter m&m's and starburst, practically every flavor, but the blue bag is the best since it was redone, lime and strawberry-watermelon are so good!

wicked

i am listening to the wicked soundtrack right now... i love it so much and want to see it again.. just thought i would share.

morelia

this is morelia. the down town area is a perfect mix of down town san fransisco and european streets. cobble stone, very narrow streets and very steep!

patzcuaro y santa clara

this is a street in patzcuaro or santa clara, they are very similar cities. all of the buildings in the city are painted this way... white on top red on the bottom with black writing on the walls to describe what the building is, whether a house or business.

el lago de patzcuaro

this a picture of patzcuaro lake. there is actually a little city on the island in the middle of the lake. we drove around the whole lake, it took at least an hour. there are many artisans that have crafts and hand made items all around the lake in the different cities. very pretty!

crazy but fun

although very busy, we had a good time traveling to guadalajara, morelia, patzcuaro & santa clara. very interesting, and of course, very beautiful places. i love mexico, it is such a diverse and wonderful country!
