here you go.... "the belly pictures"...

el bebe... this top picture is about a week ago... and the bottom pictures is from today... i really feel like my stomach is growing everyday now... sometimes it is so uncomfortable, i cant sit still very long... but i still love every minute!
the myths we have heard so far......
....that since i have not felt the baby move yet that it is a girl.. because they move around 4 or 5 months... as to boys sooner...
...because i have been craving more salt that it is a boy... if you crave sweets it is a girl...
...and then there are others that can just look at me and tell me what it is... haha... most say that we are going to have a girl.... we shall see... our next appointment is the 15th of october, and we should be able to see what it is by then... i will be just over 18 weeks along... yeah...

dia de independencia

el 16 de septiembre... is independance day in mexico...

so the night of the 15th there are always parties... like the forth of july, but mexican style!

our stake had a party first with each of the wards performing different mexican dances... they went all out, our relief society had two different dances... the women had amazing costumes and the dances were performed to perfection... the kids in the primary also participated, some doing a reenactment of what happen in 1810... some sang songs... danced... ect.... some guys did the "machete dance" ... i dont know how they dont hurt someone with their machetes... throwing them in the air, and while blindfolded doing some crazy tricks...

then the food... gorditas.... so good! burritos, tacos, tamales, pozole and tostadas.... and to finish it off... cebada and horchata... i love mexican agua fresca... which i am still getting used to the fact that when you say water it can also mean a flavored water, like horchata, jamaica... ect....

then.... it was to the main plaza, plaza de los tres presidentes...we went with some of our friends, daniel and america... for the "grito"...

there are tons of people and bands playing musica everywhere...

around 11 pm the mayor starts with a speech and then leads the mexican people in "el grito"... "viva mexico, viva mexico, viva mexico"... ect... and then the national anthem is played, followed by fuegos artificiales... or fire works... so great...

President Joseph Fielding Smith said in "Doctrines of Salvation"....

STILLBORN CHILDREN

"STILLBORN CHILDREN RESURRECTED. There is no information given by revelation in regard to the status of stillborn children. However, I will express my personal opinion that we should have hope that these little ones will receive a resurrection and then belong to us. I cannot help feeling that this will be the case.
When a couple have a stillborn child, we give them all the comfort we can. We have good reasons to hope. Funeral services may be held for such children, if the parents so desire. Stillborn children should not be reported nor recorded as births and deaths on the records of the Church, but it is suggested that parents record in their own family records a name for each such stillborn child."

"WHEN THE SPIRIT ENTERS THE BODY. The time of quickening is when the mother feels the life of her unborn infant. President Brigham Young has left us this explanation of the time when the spirit enters the body:
“When the spirit leaves them [mortal bodies] they are lifeless; and when the mother feels life come to her infant, it is the spirit entering the body preparatory to the immortal existence. But suppose and accident occurs and the spirit has to leave this body prematurely, what then? All that the physician says is—‘It is a still birth,’ and that is all they know about it; but whether the spirit remains in the body [i.e. in its own body] a minute, an hour, a day, a year, or lives there until the body has reached a good old age, it is certain that the time will come when they will be separated, and the body will return to mother earth, there to sleep upon that mother’s bosom. That is all there is about death.”
On other occasions, also, President Young taught that we should have hope for the resurrection of stillborn children. “They are all right,” he said, and nothing in the way of sealings or ordinances need be done for them"

...this time also marks the approximate time that we would have had our first... we miscarried last january... however have been truly blessed since then to be able to pregnant once again!

a very long day...

side view from the boardwalk in san carlos... this was sometime right before the hurricane hit land... in the back ground where you can see a palapa hut, that is charley's rock restaurant... the waves are so big, that they are splashing up over the roof!!!! oh, and usually, there are practically no waves here... so first of all, it is crazy enough to see waves, but to see them going up this far!!! crazy

this is the front view of the same boardwalk...
... and again, the boardwalk... but watch out... the water is coming up over the rails...

"Minimal Hurricane Henriette (75 mph) made its second and final landfall on the northwest Mexico coast near Guaymas at 5:15 PM PDT Wednesday. Winds were at 75 mph when Henriette crossed the coast.
Henriette will weaken rapidly as it turns to a more NNE track over the rugged terrain of northern Mexico. Despite the expected weakening, the storm is forecast to dump very heavy rain in the mountains--up to 12 inches in isolated spots--with flash flooding and mudslides likely."

those of you who have been here, this is pebble beach... where we usually go snorkeling.... just around that first corner... where usually there isnt water...

... and last... the waves on pebble beach...

this seems to be becoming a yearly event! almost one year ago, labor day weekend 2006, while some of our friends were here, megan and jarod... there was a hurricane in mazatlan, and we had a similar experience... but this was the first that we have been in the eye of the storm... hopefully the last...

...crazy long day.... but we are well, and thankful for all the thoughts and prayers! thanks!

she still coming!!!!!!!!

well, we were hoping that this hurricane would calm down to a tropical storm before it got to us, but i guess los cabos was not good enough... so tomorrow we will see what a hurricane is like... wish us luck!!!

watch out!!!!!!!!!!!

this is hurricane henriette... that at any moment is going to hit cabo san lucas... then, as you can see it will go back to the ocean, across the sea of cortez.... then we dont know exactly what to expect, but it is supposed to hit guaymas... any time from late tonight until friday we could be feeling the wrath of hurricane henriette... if you are looking at this picture... guaymas is is the forth dot on the tracker from the bottom, or the first dot that is on mainland mexico... so unless something changes in the next few hours/day.... we are going to see a hurricane... luckily it is only a cat 1 right now... we'll let you know how it goes.... crazy!!!!

i dont know how he did it...

the morning of my birthday i woke up with a new ring on my finger... there is a really cool pearl farm here in guaymas... brent had heard me talking about how cool it is that they have black pearl rings.. and that i love them because they are odd shaped... so i woke up with this pearl ring on my finger...

...soon after that we were off to the doctors office to check up on how the baby was/is doing! we were able to see the heart beat flicker on the screen while my doctor did an ultrasound... what i was wishing for!

... then it was off to the resort/spa for a relaxing rest of the weekend! it was so great to get away and relax without anything to worry about...

... thanks for my cake rachel!!! xoxo...
