happy halloween...

halloween party...

thanks to steve and holly we had an awesome halloween party... we had salmon and shrimp... so good! then holly made a very delicious pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting... i wish i had another piece right now... i love the fall and recipes that call for pumpkin!

so for the partying part .... first we dressed up our boys in their costumes...

jones was a hot dog...

then he took trevors hat and he became a mexican hot dog...

(although he would not keep half his costume on... trevor was a mexican mariachi)

.... then we tried some mexican candies...

step two.... squeeze the yummy tamarindo sauce over the chili-watermelon noodles...

step three... enjoy....

next... chili covered tamarindo candies... tama chews...

last... we carved our watermelons... yes watermelons... they dont have pumpkins down here so holly had the wonderful idea to carve watermelons instead... it was so fun!

brent even carved a tattoo on the back of our watermelon.. of him spearing a fish...

crazy wednesday...

i just cant get enough of owls lately... there are so many fun and different pictures of them... it all started when i was pregnant with jones and i was trying to finish his room... i knew the colors i was going to use (i also fell in love with the color blue, thus blue, black and white are the main colors of his room, see old post here... man i should update that post... his room looks so different now)... but i could not find any decor that made me happy or content... i first thought of something sporty seeing that he would be a boy... then i thought of doing something with some old surfing magazines i have... especially since almost every picture is some shade of blue (i once saw a really cool idea in a pottery barn kids magazine that i am not even going to try to describe) ... but that still did not satisfy me.... so finally... valentines day... of all days... i came across some owl pictures that i loved... and i then proceeded to paint my own pictures to hang in his room... ever since then i have found so many owls that i love... they are all so fun and different...

also ... i was checking one of my favorite sites tonight and found a new favorite... i have not had much time to read it but wanted to share...

supposedly we were going to get hit bad by hurricane norbert...

but we were very blessed to not get anything but wind...

anyhow, while we were waiting for the hurricane to come... we took the quads out and found some dunes to ride on...

funny thing is... this is where everyone goes...

and this is the sign where you enter...

on either side of the dunes there is a hotel... and guess what these hotels offer... horseback riding along the beach, quad rentals ect....

haha...

another funny thing... this is what happens when brent gets his quad stuck and we have nothing to do for a while...

brent didnt think this was the prettiest picture...

oh well....

spear fishing...

brent is training to be on the show survivor and wants to see how good he can get at spear fishing...

the show only lets you take one item from home... should it be his mask/snorkle or his spear... he could possibly make a spear from what he find in whatever remote location he will be... but a mask... not as likely...

trigger fish... o cochito... he wanted to eat this one... but someone let it get away...

its ok kevin... by the time you guys got back it probably wouldnt have been safe to eat anyway...

p.s.... nothing that he caught was killed... everything swam away... he did not kill any wildlife...

first time...

jones had never had a bath in the kitchen sink before... he loved it!!!

especially grandmas fun cookie cutters....

poor little guy... he is getting three teeth right now and hasnt been feeling well the last week... i am happy i cant remember getting my teeth...

it came...

last thursday... the 16th... the cruise ship finally came... it was so crazy! there were SO many people down town wanting to see it... and there were so many vendors selling everything... dancers and other entertainers in the main plaza... it was awesome!!!
