the tradition pushes on...

a long time ago... grandma and grandpa clark were helping my family move from utah to arizona... and i was just a little girl... grandpa had these funny cookies... and you know how little kids are for cookies... so i asked, "can i try one of those?" .... little did i know that those cookies would become one of my favorites and that we would always joke about the first time i tried the cookie that is more than just a cookie... fig newtons....

just recently grandpa and i were talking about this while they came to visit and he reminded me that i must carry on tradition and that jones must soon try these delicious little cookies in hopes that he too would love them....

... well... that day came just last week and i am proud to announce that jones too is in love!

to a life time of memories..... we love you fig newtons!

happy easter...

happy easter... the pixxy stixxs were a hit...

i am writing these words this afternoon not to recieve sympathies but to give thanks... while our little family of three lie in bed sick... each one of us with different symptoms... we feel the pain of sickness... and i cant help but think of HIM, especially on this day... our ELDER BROTHER... who died for us... who gave us HIS all that we may live again... i cant help but think of the pain that HE suffered... that the pain i am suffering is nothing in comparison to what HE went through and endured... to sum it up... i hope that we all remember HIM... our ELDER BROTHER... our SAVIOR... on this day... the happiness that we can all feel and celebrate because of the knowledge that HE lives and that we may also live again... that "His peace fills our hearts and eases our minds. Jesus is in very deed “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6)." (www.lds.org) thank you....
as we woke up this morning we found a trail of chocolate eggs outside our door... what a sweetheart my brother is...

jones loved picking up the "balls" and finding a bunny at the end... thank you alex... that was so thoughtful!!!

easter traditions...

brents family got together early friday morning to visit the grave site of his grandma lunt... although i never had the chance to meet her before she passed away, i know how wonderful a woman she was because of the reverence that is present whenever she is spoken of...

then we went to a park, ate breakfast and had an easter egg hunt...
jones had so much fun with aunt rachel finding eggs... and then eating the chocolates inside...

spring break... 2009

what did you do spring break...?

did you tie a boogie board to the back of a quad to ride the ocean waves...?... jason and brent did...

but... dont stand up or else...

so... we returned for some fun in the sun to our home away from home... guaymas/san carlos mexico... i loved that i had my camera out and ready... it was so weird driving down this time... both brent and i agreed that we felt different... we felt as we should have... as visitors... instead of feeling like we were returning home after a weekend away... we really felt that we were the visitors now and we were driving to our weekend away... with that mindset... i captured some of the things that we always laughed at when you saw them for the first time... or purhaps even the second or third...

the sleepy sleepers...

the pigs... you can never for get the pig trucks...

eating snacks...

playing peek-a-boo...

and... a few others...

the ambulance or other crazy drivers... see previous post...

the beautiful moutians that all of a sudden come from no where...

guaymas/san carlos is so beautiful...

i always knew this, but after leaving and coming back, looking at everything from a different point of view and perspective... it was like the first time we came... i could all of a sudden remember it so clearly... the smell of the salty air in your nose... the feel of the humidity heavier on your skin... the sounds to your ears of the waves from the ocean crashing, mixed with some mexican mariachi music and loud bases booming from somewhere near by... the colorful buildings and the not so far off mountians that your eyes can see... and one of my most and newest favorites... the taste of the carne asada on corn tortillas... oh we missed that so much already...
guaymas/san carlos is so beautiful...

beach smiles...

rocks and the bucket... jones loved putting rocks in the bucket and then taking them out... then again and again... in... out... in... out....

sand castles...

then we cant forget... that jones loved the quads and will not leave them alone until he gets to have a ride...

one more...

for spring break we went back to mexico for a few days... and of course we had yet one more "only in mexico moment"... brent, while driving us down was trying to pass an ambulance driver who just could not choose a lane... the above picture demostrates what his view of the freeway must have looked like while driving on the center line... brent then proceeded to honk at the ambulance to have him move so that we could pass.... only in mexico... could you or would you honk at an ambulance to pass and they would pull over to let you by... right???

we love you mexico...
