another bitter sweet moment...
i cant help but feel an overwhelming sense of peace right now as i write this...
we wanted to honor our beloved prophet Gordon Bitner Hinckley who has passed away today.... only about two short hours ago at 7pm... we will miss him terribly... but are so happy that he can once again be reunited with his wife... his other half... his eternal companion whom he so dearly and undoubtedly loves...
what a great great man... it was always such a joy to hear him speak.... to look forward to the next time you would hear his voice and see his overwhelming joy for this church and life... he will be greatly missed!!! i know that he was a true prophet, he spoke with our heavenly father and cared for not only each and every member of this church but each and every son and daughter of God...
i have loved working with the young women because i have been able to testify to them that we do have a living prophet and that he does love them and thinks about them often... my testimony of him and this church has grown greatly through this experience... and i believe will continue to strengthen...
he was such a knowledgeable person and served this church with everything he had... what a great man!!! we will certainly miss his most wonderful sense of humor and that cane that he always was swinging around as if he did not need it...

thanks for an awesome baby shower!!!
i wanted to post a thank you to my mom and for everyone that helped out with throwing me an awesome baby shower... i always laugh at those two words now... here in mexico they also say "baby shower" just with a mexican accent so it would be kind of like "baybee chowwear"...
thank you to all... the food was awesome and the company even better... baby jones is going to be so cute in all the fun clothes and awesome shoes that he got!!! only about two more months and he should be here... we cant wait...
people have been asking...
i am pretty sure we have a name... jones.... brent came up with this name for our baby and i love it... it has a few meanings for us...
1- it is a family name from his moms side of the family
this picture is of brents moms great great grandparents on her moms side: alfred thomas jones is the man with the stunning stash
... then brents moms dads mothers father is timothy jones... brents great great grandfather... also sporting a stylish stash...
2-maurice jones-drew... nfl... he has an awesome victory dance... brent and i both can do a pretty good mock of it... to see this dance: click play and you will see "wild card playoffs:maurice jones-drew highlights"... at about 1:13 he does the dance!
3- jones soda... why not.. it is good stuff... have you tried the hot cocoa flavor?
... and this has nothing to do with the name... but enough said... haha...

i will always remember her...
today, just a few short hours ago... one of our dear friends passed away... hermana camacho... i am not exactly sure how old she was, but both brent and i know that she is so happy to be with her husband again...
(sister camacho is the adorable senora in the green sweater... she is with a few of the jovenes from our ward ... last year we went to her house to put up this christmas tree...
funny thing about this picture... i had taken another one just before ... but she told me immediately after that i had to wait a moment and take another... because i had not given her the chance to comb her hair yet... this is the second and more beautiful picture...)
... one big thing that i keep thinking is that we should never leave anything for tomorrow...because you never know what will have happened by then... i am going visiting teaching on thursday... and it makes me a little sad to say that i no longer get to visit her... but i am so happy that i was able to visit her those other times... and that i can have so many fond memories of this dear woman...
... just a few things i want to remember about her...
she was amazing!!!!
she had the best memory ever!!! she knew everyone in our ward from grandparents, parents, children, aunts, uncles... you name them and she knew who everyone was... by name and face... i was the gringita...
she has not been able to go out much at all lately so our ward was taking turns to go visit her and bring her food... what a blessing it was in our lives to be able to serve her!!!
she was so loving and would get so very excited just to see a smiling and/or familiar face stop by...
she did not have much, but you always knew what was most important to her...
she was a fighter... and a lover...
she would always tell us how she thanks her Father in Heaven for what she has and was a very faithful member of the church...
i love in the picture above you can see the picture of Christ... she would always point to it and say she knew that he was with her...
she had one of the best personalities and was so funny... i would laugh every time i went to visit her...
one time... i was visiting her with another sisiter in our ward and as soon as we got there she quickly told us that she was not doing well... but that she would love some churros... she was like a little kid... of course who could say no... we went all the way downtown to get a little bag of churros so that she would "feel better"... what a sweet tooth she had... she made me proud...
... what a sad time it must have been for her when her doctor told her that she was not able to eat anything but fruits, vegetables and some grains... no more churros, cakes, brownies... tamales.. oh how excited she got when i brought her tamales from ley...
i will be forever grateful for her example to me, i will always remember her huge testimony of the gospel and what it had changed in her life.... her loving kindness and simplicity of just loving life and being happy for the small things... i love her!!! ... and we will miss her!!!
