which would you like first... i always like the bad news first... that way you can end on a happy note...
i am finally posting about my birthday... it is one i will never forget... crazy...
we drove home from a very fun weekend away to be recieved by a crazy crazy storm... tormento julio... we did not even know that it was in the forecast... but when we arrived in guaymas about 10:30pm we could not even drive to our house... the road in our neighborhood that leads to our house was like a rushing river of rapids... i honestly cannot think of any other words but CRAZY... we were hoping to wait it out and then be able to drive to our house... but we didnt feel good about going on the road in our car nor by foot and about five minutes after a prayer pleading for an answer of what to do... our neighbor pulled up to his house (this is about 1230 or 1 ), so we asked him if we could park in his driveway and see if it will let up after a little while longer...
another half hour passes and it only gets worse... then jones wakes up and does not want to be in his carseat... our dear neighbors let us stay at their house... and we slept in a full size bed that belongs to a youngman from our ward... brent, jones and myself could have not been happier in this little tiny bed after being in the car that long (not to mention we were kind of homeless at the moment)...
finally around 2 am we got to sleep and woke up about 6 to it still raining... not near as bad, but raining... and this is what we saw... crazy... we were able to walk to our house but no cars could get through until later that evening... luckily we have been working on getting our house leak proof, so there was not too much in our house... we are hoping that that was the big storm of the year... since we have been here there has been one storm like this one, once a year... about the exact same time... first year, hurricane of the coast... second year hurricane that hit us... this year and the worst... hurricane off the coast again... crazy crazy...
(the first pictures were taken by brent when the rain let up enough for him to see why it looked like rapids and not just flowing water down the street... i wish we could have taken a picture to show how crazy it was when we first arrived... even a picture would not describe how crazy and how powerful the water really was... incredible to say the least!!!)
the street formed around the truck tires...
i honestly asked someone if there had been an earthquake too...
the whole street was if it had been picked up and moved...
crazy!!! (see the guy in the background... he is the one that did the you tube video of marsella)
mucho lodo...
the good news:
other than arriving home to find out that we could not go home... we had such a fun time relaxing by the pool and drinking pina coladas! and even more weird for me... i still am liking and eating steaks... so we even went to a steakhouse for dinner... yum...

Jones makes the best faces. Was he eating steak like his mama off that fork?
oh my gosh, your ordeal sounds as traumatic as our trip...except you were "home" (or out of a home)...
