and now there are 14...

gwenth jane burr is the 14th grandchild on brents side of the family...

she was born saturday the 9th of august. although having a few complications (her lungs being under developed because of being born at 36 weeks) things are looking good and they should get to take her home from the hospital tomorrow! congratulations jared, karen, briant and max! what a beautiful little girl! we love you all and wish we could be there right now... cant wait to meet her!!!

love thursday... for as long as i can remember...

...for as long as i can remember one of the first things we would do as a family when we arrived in utah is find an arctic circle. why?... so that we could indulge in one of their hot fudge marshmallow shakes. while we were in utah just over a week ago i am pretty sure that we had 4 or 5 of these shakes in the week we were there... yeah... that is how much my family loves them... however... i think we have found a new winner of the best tasting hot fudge marshmallow shake... in kanab at "big al's burgers at the junction" they have exceeded our expectations! arctic circle still did a good job even jcw's was good... but big al knew how to mix it!

... so... last night for family night we made our own, slighty mexican version... (mexican ice cream tastes a bit different, not necessarily bad, just different)

marshmallow creme + homemade hot fudge + vanilla ice cream = hot fudge marshmallow shake...

what was for dinner....

whenever we are in the states we go to the grocery store right before coming home... and... almost everytime we pick a few things new to try... this time brent found "dirty rice"...

it wasnt bad... not my favorite... but it was for sure just as interesting as its name!

the beach...

we had a very fun day at the beach saturday...

some of brents friends were here this last weekend... so... spear fishing was a must...

the water is so nice right now... it is perfect!

oh.... and just in case you are wondering what it feels like to get stung by a jelly fish, you can now ask brent... see the big red blotchy mark on his upper back, shoulder blade... and yes, brent did put sunscreen on this time... however he still has his weird looking suntan...

i finally won a settlers game!!!

i still have a lot of catching up to do... but at least it is a start...

i would like to call this "mothers bliss"...

today i was trying to put jones down for a nap and although i knew he was tired... he was not having it... then as i was holding him he just fell asleep and then i didnt want to put him down... every mother knows that feeling... and karen burr said it best... somethign like this... "when you finally get them busy doing somthing or entertained with something and you have a few moments to yourself... you then find yourself watch your child instead..." that was one of those moments... i loved it and cherished it!

a great travler...

jones is such a good travler!!! we had so much fun being in mesa and then in utah! two whole weeks of fun! we spent our first week in mesa and got to hang out with the martindale family almost everyday! then the second week we left for utah... it was my grandma and grandpa mikesell's 50th wedding anniversary party (feb. 14th was their official anniversary date)... it was so great to see family and for jones to meet a lot of family.

...while away, jones had the chance to enjoy a bathtub... and loved it...

we were able to visit jaxon and watch spot with him on his HUGE bean bag chair...

jam with gram... we had so many strawberries left over from the party so we made jam the next morning... yummy... i have already eaten 5 peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches in the 3 days we have been back...

we went to park city for the day to visit my aunt and uncle... we visited the farmers market there... they have some of the yummiest breads ever!!! i loved one with olives in it... so so good! then we went to this noodle and pizza place for dinner and they made their own noodles... i love homemade noodles they are so delicious... (alex and i in park city)

jones loved swimming this time... unlike the last time we took him swimming... this time the water was a lot warmer...

weird new thing... jones has to be teething... he will just start biting your jaw line... and hard... i would not consider these love bites... they hurt... and for some reason he likes doing it to my mom the most... crazy kid!

my mom bought jones a hawaiian shirt just like grandpa... so just before we left to come home we had to get a picture...

good and tired... ready to go home!
