to disneyland and back and inbetween...

jones and i were able to go to california with my family for my cousins baptism and then to disneyland... we had so much fun! i know he will not ever remember a thing but we had a great time.

driving to california... jones was such a great traveler...

ready for church....

jones is six weeks and one day old...

day one:california adventure...

heimlichs chew chew train ride... we got in trouble for taking this picture... this ride goes about .5 mph and the babies legs must be under the seat belt at all times... which they were not for this picture... the ride was stopped and resumed after we were securely fasten under the seat belt again...

day two: disney land
getting ready...

set...

go....
waiting in line for the peter pan ride with grandma...

yum!!! blue bayou!!! 11:40 reservation!!!

this is a new dish that i loved, creole ratatouille

an old dish... that i always get... monte cristo... so good!!! i want another one right now!

dessert... beignets with a vanilla creme dipping sauce and berry dipping sauce...

i am so good that i dont even have to look where i am aiming... haha... yeah right...

disney express way...

the strangest conversation of the day: a random worker walks past me while i was waiting for the others to get off a ride that jones was too young for and strikes up a conversation saying,
worker: "wow, how old is your child"... me:"six weeks"... worker:"oh"... me: silence... worker: "and your other children, your sons or daughters?"... me: silence and confusion..."this is my only child"... worker: "oh, you are very brave"... then about 15 minutes later she comes back... worker: "you are still here"... me: "yep, waiting for the family to get off the ride"... worker: "oh, ok"... random...

...and... i cant leave disneyland without getting my fortune read by the famous esmeralda...

bath time and stories...

he loves his baths...

i was reading jones "the shapes of me and other stuff" by dr suess and noticed this page... i thought it was funny that dr suess has a blogg too!

aunt rachel and uncle cole...

rachel and friends... (they noticed that he looks like he is thinking and pondering very intently about something by the way his fingers are under his chin...)
playing wii with uncle cole

meeting the great-grandparents...

fools day

we hope everyone is having a most happy april fools day!!!

the last few days...

jones has experienced a lot the last few days...

...he is one month old today... yeah... he had his first doctors appointment just a week ago and was a whole pound and a half more and 3 centimeters longer making him 8 lbs and 20 1/2 inches.

there is a hill right behind our neighborhood that we have been wanting to hike and saturday was the day... he loved it and was very content to be in the sling that i had bought...

...last night for part of our family home evening we tried out his stroller... and he loved it... he was wide awake taking in everything at first... then quickly feel asleep from the ride...

... and today... jones is finally and officially a registered born mexican baby... what a process... you have to have copies of proof of identification, two witnesses must be present and sign the birth certificate (and they must be mexican citizens), a copy of your marriage license and finally the hospital issued birth certificate (this is different from the actual birth certificate).
here he is getting his finger print taken....

tomorrow we have an appointment so jones can officially be recognized as an american and have dual citizenship.

what a great day for a blessing...

blessing day : jones brent martindale : march 16th 2008
what a special day...
thankful for so many things...

thanks to all those who were able to come to guaymas/san carlos for the blessing of jones brent martindale... it was a beautiful blessing and wonderful to have so many family members and loved ones here to share such a special time... thank you!!!

thanks to all the priesthood holders for participating, but most of all... thanks to brent, for being worthy to hold such a power, words cannot convey the blessing that this is in our lives... thank you...
4 generations...
i loved this picture... this is one picture that i was looking forward to with so much anticipation... here are four generations of martindale men... all first born sons, all born in march, each with the same hair cut and all devilishly handsome!!!
we also had the honor of celebrating alans birthday while he was visiting, march 16th, the same day as the blessing... i forgot to buy birthday candles for the cupcakes... so we figured that this candle would suffice... happy birthday alan!!!

p.s... i just had to add this picture...
