rip... stick...

brent is in love... with his rip stick... i make fun of him because at least half of the kids in our neighborhood are constantly going down the street on rip sticks... that is right kids... boys and girls... so it is funny because you see them and then brent cruising by... haha...

but... someone else fell in love... no not me... i havent even tried the thing yet...

jones... he wont take his eyes off the thing...

jones had a few firsts in the last few weeks...

first time touching grass...

he went crazy!!!

first time in a box... he loved every second...

love thursday....

it all started when i joined the gym so that i could take jones to swimming lessons... then i thought it might be fun to try a dance class or two that they offer... there are three... jazzercise, baile latino and zumba... i first tried zumba and liked it a lot more than i thought... then jazzercise, which has a latin twist to it... and then last and although very intimidating... baile latino...

i am hooked!!! although i may not move like i have salsa in my blood it is so fun to learn and laugh... it is my therapy for the day...

the gym wanted to have a big party for its one year anniversary and had started to ask if we as clients would like to participate... each class would perform a dance that showcases what the class is about... somehow i started out doing only one dance for one class and then ended up doing all three dances for all three classes...

we had so much fun... and danced to so many different songs... shakira to flo-rida... regeton to pop... and even hip hop... i never knew that i liked to dance so much... isnt it funny the things you find out about yourself if you just dont worry what others think... i hope i can always remember that....

saturday...

last saturday was so fun... jones and brent hung out in the morning in pjs and watched baby einstein

then we went to the beach...

it didnt start out as fun... jones did a face dive into the sand... and wasnt so sure about the water at first... it has gotten a lot cooler the last few weeks...

but he finally warmed up and was loving the water... it will probably be the last time we can go this year... he loves the water....

yeah....

halloween party...

thanks to steve and holly we had an awesome halloween party... we had salmon and shrimp... so good! then holly made a very delicious pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting... i wish i had another piece right now... i love the fall and recipes that call for pumpkin!

so for the partying part .... first we dressed up our boys in their costumes...

jones was a hot dog...

then he took trevors hat and he became a mexican hot dog...

(although he would not keep half his costume on... trevor was a mexican mariachi)

.... then we tried some mexican candies...

last... we carved our watermelons... yes watermelons... they dont have pumpkins down here so holly had the wonderful idea to carve watermelons instead... it was so fun!

brent even carved a tattoo on the back of our watermelon.. of him spearing a fish...

crazy wednesday...

i just cant get enough of owls lately... there are so many fun and different pictures of them... it all started when i was pregnant with jones and i was trying to finish his room... i knew the colors i was going to use (i also fell in love with the color blue, thus blue, black and white are the main colors of his room, see old post here... man i should update that post... his room looks so different now)... but i could not find any decor that made me happy or content... i first thought of something sporty seeing that he would be a boy... then i thought of doing something with some old surfing magazines i have... especially since almost every picture is some shade of blue (i once saw a really cool idea in a pottery barn kids magazine that i am not even going to try to describe) ... but that still did not satisfy me.... so finally... valentines day... of all days... i came across some owl pictures that i loved... and i then proceeded to paint my own pictures to hang in his room... ever since then i have found so many owls that i love... they are all so fun and different...

also ... i was checking one of my favorite sites tonight and found a new favorite... i have not had much time to read it but wanted to share...
