love thursday...

so... last wednesday was dia de la madre in mexico... it is always the 10 de mayo... for mutual they youth made cards for their madres and then we made heart shaped cupcakes... they turned out really cute! then, at 11:30pm we left the church in 4 different cars to caravan the youth to their casas to sing to the mothers. i guess it is a tradition here to sing "mananitas" at 12 o clock...to tell someone felicidades or congratulations in the first hour of that day, whether it is their birthday or any other special day... the moms were all surprised and the kids loved it... we were out until almost 2 am singing to all the moms! luckily they did not have school the next day... love thursday is for all the moms in the world... we love you and thank you for doing such a great job!

if you like reading at all, you will love this book! it is my new favorite... i dont think.... actually i know that i have never wanted to keep reading a book so badly in my life before. i really do love it. i stayed up the last two nights until 2am and 3:30am reading it... i could never do that before... i fall asleep very easily and very fast.... the book is called twilight; the author, stephenie meyer .

i figured today i would ask brent what is one of his loves for love thursday... he said shoes... he loves shoes more than any other guy i know... i love them too... here are a few of our favorites... his top favorite is nike id...

happy birthday grandpa clark!!!

we celebrated grandpa clarks birthday yesterday, tuesday may 1st, at bananas restaurant. we have been here a year now and we have finally made it to this restaurant here in san carlos... i dont know why we never went there before, but it is really good. i love chicken fajitas, and they know how to cook a good chicken fajita! however, this last time we went for gramps birthday, i finally tried the crab tostadas... i loved them, especially since they are served with avocado... i dont know what i would do without avocados in my life... so happy that we could share your birthday with you grandpa! we love you guys... come back soon!

a day devoted to kisses

i am not sure if this day is celebrated internationally... or really at all... but i thought why not share such a wonderful day... i found this out while sending ecards to the many that have birthdays this month... the same site gave me the option to send a "kiss card"... so....this saturday, the 28th of april, is kiss your mate day.... yeah!... i hope that you all enjoy and embrace a day devoted to the kiss!

something that i have learned recently.... that no matter what calling one has, they are learning to love others and serve others. i took this picture this last sunday...some of my young women... this may sound cheesy, but i really believe it... sometimes when we are all in our little young womens room at church, and i see the girls all singing or participating in class and i get all choked up, and i am full of happiness... i think this is how a mother must feel about their children when they catch them doing something good... i love my young women! they make me truly and sincerely happy!

i know it is disgusting...

so... we are not at all proud of our last visitor... actually i am very happy to know that they will never be returning again... and i am actually embarrassed to say that we had a mouse in our house... so gross! i am such a clean freak.... so the other day when i seemed to find mouse droppings in strange places in our house... i was disgusted! i started noticing it everywhere, then of course i was the lucky one to find the ugly creature. i really don't like cats... and i wanted to get one so that the mouse would go away! i know that brent is happy to have the mouse gone, b/c i would not stop talking about how gross it was... i kept telling him that i could just imagine the mouse running around the house while we are gone at work and at night as if he were the mouse on charlottes web, "shmoorgishboard... orgishboard..." i am just hoping that he... it... did not have a family... sick! of course we had to take a picture of our perfect catch... cookie dough did the trick!
