bribe alert...

while getting all caught up on blogging about our trip to az and our fun with visitors life kept going and so now i am still catching up...

here is our week in review...

monday... for family home evening we went to target to get daddy a surprise... cant tell you what it is or else it wont be a surprise for brent... but i can tell you that jones found this sword at the dollar spot and was so very happy... in fact we had to take it with us to the grocery store the following day...

and lucky for me... the dollar spot has so many gardening things right now... it is hard to pass them all up... especially when they are only a dollar... i am now the proud owner of my first garden gnome... i am hoping that it will ward off any more pesky bugs that ate all my basil...

(i know that wont get rid of the bugs, but i like to think my cute little gnome is more than just a sweet little man standing there holding a mushroom)

tuesday... jones isnt the best at talking on the phone... but he is the best at pretending to talk on the phone to imaginary people... wish i could pretend brent is an imaginary person and then maybe he would say more than "nnnoooooo" when i ask him if he wants to say hello to daddy...

wednesday... i thought it was funny when i pulled these things out of the carseat... you never know what you are going to find... these are just a few of the regular items...

money, flowers, cars

others not seen here...

balls, candy, crackers, toy bugs... those gave me a scare a few times...

jones loves to stick things on either side of his legs when he gets in the car... then we both forget about them later...

thursday... the sealife aquarium... it is a part of legoland... we talked about how much fun it would be the night before and he was so very excited to see sharks, puffer fish and nemo... good thing we saw all three!

then... who needs legos when you can just go to legoland!

friday... we had our date night again... this time we went to barnes and noble to find a new book... just so happens that jones remembered the place and was super excited... he ran straight to the kids section and immediately got a book off the shelf and then started reading it to some people that we have never met...

we read a lot of books and the were lucky enough to be there for "pajamarama" a childrens story time... jones lasted only a few minutes when he was all of a sudden done with the store and we couldnt get out quick enough... but we did leave with the beautiful book above... "fairy tales and fables" a mother goose book that jones loves!

then back to our house for dinner... and what did he request... waffles! i talked him into having eggs for breakfast instead of his usual waffles... so for dinner i guess he remembered that he didnt have his daily quota of waffles...

(brent made jones a "goodmorning" video that he can watch everyday when he wakes up... in this video he asks jones what he is going to eat for breakfast and mentions waffles... so jones asks for waffles almost everyday!... we make many different kinds of waffles... and he gets his daily wheat, oat bran and many other kinds of grains)

saturday... we went for a run to carlsbad for some jamba juice and a stroll around downtown... we played by the water fountain in the beautiful weather... jones got many compliments and comments about his choice of footwear... there wasnt a cloud in the sky but he had to wear his rain boots...

i loved that although the sidewalk was right there... he had to walk in the grass, rocks and dirt... he is a boy with his own agenda...

and then to add to it... we went home and worked in the garden... and at one point jones looked at me and said something like, mom you need to get dressed/ready so we can go to disneyland... he said it in less words than that... but you get the point... poor kid misses disneyland because he hasnt been in about two weeks... ahah!

sunday... the bribe... jones earned himself a thomas the train set for going to nursery without me... we have been working on it... and little by little... he went today without crying for even one second... yaaay!
