happy...

yesterday i was so very spoiled by many loving people in my life...

(i never use capital letters... you know that means i am super serious)

i had the best birthday possible... the only thing that would have made it better would have been brent being here, in person, to celebrate with me...

i never would have imagined that turning 27 could be so much fun!

everyone in the past couple days has made sure i ate too much... i dont think i will want to eat again very soon... going out to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner was crazy fun... and all i can say is good thing i like to run...

i got to go to jazzercise... yes... dont laugh i go and i love it... im a little new... so i am still the person that you laugh at because just when i think i know the dance moves... i am totally doing it wrong... like yesterday...

... then i was totally put on the spot when at the end of class... when you are nice and not beautifully sweaty... the instructor made sure to point me out, wish me happy birthday and have everyone (at least 50 people) sing me happy birthday... can you say awkward... it did not know what to do... i actually wish i had a picture of myself... to laugh and see how awkward it seemed...

random... jones loves his glasses and has to have them every time we leave the house...

jones made me so happy yesterday... he is the best...

when i was trying to explain that to jones that it was my birthday... he quickly ran to our coat closet and got out the lightening mcqueen wrapping paper that we used to wrap his presents for his last birthday...

this beautiful bed spread is anthropologie... isnt it lovely!

i love how earthy and soft it is but at the same time could be very modern/contemporary...

but what i love even more is...

from the moment they moved in... jones has been in love with spending every moment possible with his cousins... they just moved here only a week ago and we are so very excited to live so close! close enough i could run there! ...and we have already had so much fun!!!

this is jones first experience with a ds... or any nintendo.... can you tell he is in awe...

just little details...

so most know that i have an amazing sweet tooth that requires much attention!!!

i mentioned a few posts back about this wonderful little place that my dear friends spoke so fondly of... and i finally made it there... and was not let down!

this place is heaven for anyone that loves a patisserie...

i have only tried the chocolate lava cake... and it was amazing!!!

i love godiva chocolate cheese cake from cheesecake factory... ask brent how much i love it... i dont really share when i get a slice... and this is better than that...

the best news of all... its not that far away from my house... maybe about 15 minute drive... but... even better... they are opening another one closer... like 5 mins from my house... yippeeee...

wait... maybe thats not so good!

especially when i just told shauna that we should try to go on a no sugar diet for a month...

we are definitely waiting until after my bday... because this is what i will be eating...

swim lessons...

i know he doesnt look happy here... but i promise that its only because i wanted to take a picture of how awesome he is doing... he is hating the camera more and more everyday... bummer for blogging...

but he swam all the way from the steps to this point all by himself...

those that have been around him this summer know that he did not want anything to do with water... but now... because of our swim lessons he is doing amazing!

our swim teacher meagan is THE BEST...

big scoopers and lots of kickers... he loves swim lessons... and he loves the pool now! yeah!!!

this picture is actually not swim lessons... just swimming with friends... they dont let us use this awesome pink swim tube for lessons... we have to use "surf boards"... as jones would call them... and we throw toys to the other end of the pool and race to get them...

jones even jumped off the diving board for his first time last friday (the 20th)...

a closer look

its kind of crazy... brent (and the rest of his unit) should have replacements in afghanistan in about a month and then leave about two weeks after that... which means that he should actually be here around october 11th... yeah!!!!!

(so the whole 6-7 months thing... it really ends up being 7.5 months... someone needs to learn how to count better... i am just happy that we are close... so i can joke about it now...)

jones wanted to color brent some pictures to send to him before he does come home... and we made a sticker chart to count the days until he arrives... but of course we had to play with all the left over stickers and jones got a very close look... telling me all about each ball...

nap time...

i realize that this picture looks like anything but nap time...

but this is what happens when i fall asleep thinking that jones is also asleep...

i woke up to hearing him reading to himself and could only smile...

then when i saw his room... i didnt smile...

but that only last a few seconds... because as soon as he knew that i was standing there he says:

"hey mom, did you sleep good?"

i love my jones...

love our neighborhood...

anyone that has talked to me about our neighborhood knows that i love it more and more as time passes... this just adds to it... every year there is a synchronized swimming event put on by the lifeguards of oceanside at the marshal street pool... it was so cute... all the different classes did a dance and synchronized swimming routine... they would start out of the water dance to music, then would end up in the water and do some synchro... the best was the finale... the city of oside lifeguards all dance and did synchro to michael jackson thriller... it was amazing!!! jones kept asking for more... we loved it!

words cannot describe how cute/funny/entertaining it was...

the lifeguards started the night off with some great interpretations of famous singers...

justin timberlake... lady gaga... dolly parton... beyonce... shakira...

those lifeguards can dance!!!!

and all the kids were adorable... if we are here long enough i think we just might see jones doing a little synchro swimming... dont laugh... there was the cutest boy that performed... he did a dance/synchro/diving performance to guns and roses...

.....

and our nice neighbor gave jones a dollar so he could pick out a treat at the bake sale...

of course he picked a cupcake... but not just any cupcake... a pig cupcake...
