chapter 3... clark family...

friday… to the cabin…southern utah… where my grandparents grew up… grover county utah... teasdale... tory.... this is a great picture that my mom was able to take while flying back to mesa....

just before you get to the cabin you pass through a small town called biknell, and there, in this little town is a restaurant, the sunglow cafĂ©, that makes the best pie ever… my favorite… buttermilk pie… since i can remember, from when I was 6 or 7 years old, it has been my favorite....

the cabin: a place of relaxation, a place of refuge and regeneration…. my dads side of the family was all meeting here.... everyone, except my brother on a mission, was able to come… and we had so much fun!

saturday… everyone has arrived… we had a fun game of baseball… i still dont know who won...

...and then the boys had a “few” games... air soft guns playing cia… a couple of guys would be cia, one guy the president and another few the assassins. the cia was in charge of keeping the president from being shot, while the assassins were trying to kill everyone, especially the president… they played and played… then troy, my uncle that is a utah state trooper got his paint ball gun out…. paint ball against air soft…. and since he is a state trooper do i have to say more about how great of a shot he is....
the teams are divided....

dont you love the masks.....

trooper troy...

sunday… church… pioneer day talks… dutch oven cooking… family picture… the longest game of settlers I have ever played… until 2 am... ect....

monday… hike in fruita… once again our sea level lungs where tested at such a high altitude... but we both forgot how much we love to hike...

... here we are picking apricots in the orchards… at the end of the hike there are some orchards that people just have to donate some money and you can pick as many apricots as you want...

then it was time to go home… while driving home it started raining about ½ hour after we left and did not stop until we arrived in mesa… here is a pic of the grand canyon…. And the runoff water pouring off the cliff into the canyon… crazy amounts of water

chapter 2... salt lake city, brent and i

Monday morning the martindales were off to go back to mesa and we were up early to hike mt timp. It was a very steep hike and since we are used to sea level, utah hiking made our hearts almost jump out of our chests because of the elevation, nonetheless we had a lot of fun, and I love being inside the 3 caves… so cooooollllldddddd….

us at the top of mt. timpanogos...

ashley, this picture is for you... until you are able to go... "the heart"

cabellas... our first time there… thanksgiving point for lunch and then… dinner we met up with my g & g mikesell, tina and kids, and lynette and kids to go to training table… later that night we went to the thai pan trading co. then down east homes… brent found some joes jeans for me and i got them for only $25 i was so surprised….

...this is two of tinas kids... they found our sunglasses and were having way too much fun...

We had fun staying at the red lion hotel, which was right downtown salt lake city… perfect for going everywhere we wanted… Tuesday we went to olive garden for lunch… then the temple to do a live session… which was awesome… our first time…

...then later that night we went to the gateway to shop, flemings for dinner and oceans 13... and those of you who know me... know that i dont like red meat... but brents steak was honestly and sincerely the best steak i have ever had in my whole life... i had more than one bite... my salmon was really good too... now i am hungry...

if you have not been to gateway and are planning to be in salt lake any time, it is such a great place, they have everything, from great restaurants to awesome shopping... the clark planetarium and a movie theather, ect.... plus one of the workers there told me that they are going to be building an urban soon...

wednesday… we got a new camera… which explains why i all of a sudden have pictures from this point on… our other camera just stopped working… we just explored salt lake city and found the distribution center… i was lucky enough to get a hold of ashley and go to dinner with her… we went to one of my favorites, california pizza kitchen… good times… brent also, at the same time, met up with 2 of his mission companions and went to dinner… z tejas...

thursday... we went to sundance to ride the alpine slide and zip line... then up another canyon to park city... i love downtown park city and the outlet shopping... it was so fun and the weather was perfect...

the zip line is right above brent in this picture...

ready to ride the alpine slide....

waiting for turn at the zip line....

we met my mom for dinner later that night at thaifoon ... thai food... i love thai food... then bens cookies for dessert... yummy.. thanks for the recommendation ashley...

our 3-part vacation... chapter 1... brents family

Our very fun and wonderful 3-part vacation…. First we went to provo to be at the lunt family reunion with brents family. We stayed at the northgate mansion which was a pretty cool place. I was surprised that 50 people could all stay in the same place and all have their own beds and bathrooms. it was really good to see everyone...

we had to check out of the mansion by 11am, so after that we went to bridal veil falls and then later to sundance to ride the lift… thanks to marla and shauna we have pictures of those two places… it is so pretty there, brent and i loved the vegetation that surrounding us everywhere… so beautiful! unfortunately we had to say goodbye to shauna, justin and their two boys, owen and drew that afternoon… but we were able to enjoy a good snow cone and old fashion root beer with them before they left... thanks for the snow cones alan!!!

sunday… so cool… i guess that i have been before as a kid, but i did not remember… we went to music and the spoken word

...it was seriously so awesome… we got there early enough to hear a practice session first and that alone was beautiful… i could not contain myself and began to cry… at one point the tabernacle choir (which includes brents uncle that made it into the tabernacle choir just recently) was singing…. i was watching as the seats were filling in and people where coming in the entrances like little ants, coming into a great big room… i could not help but think that that is how it will be when everyone is gathering after the second coming… we will all be gathering in one place as friends family and neighbors in such a heavenly place…thanks for having such a great idea marla…

this is the place monument after music and the spoken word... what a great sunday!!!

delfinario.....

saturdays mutual: we went to the delfinario... it is no sea world... but it was pretty fun... i think the youth loved it. they all paid for themselves by doing a car wash awhile ago... i was so proud.... and it makes me so happy to see our youth group growing... only about half our young men and young women were able to go, but nonetheless ... we had a good time
