the guru palace:indian cuisine...

i love to try new places... so when ashley said, "i know of this indian food restaurant we should try..." i was sure that we were going...
we finally went... the guru palace:cuisine of india on baseline and gilbert, a few doors down from trader joes... and although i didnt learn his name (man above in photo with us) he was very nice and welcomed us to his restaurant... i had briefly tried a few indian dishes... a few things from trader joes and one other time in flagstaff... but didnt know how authentic it was... so until this encounter... i did not consider myself having tried indian food... we loved it! jones even tried and liked it... azcentral gave wonderful reviews which i just found after having already tried some of the same dishes...

our favorites:

the naan flat bread, we ordered both original and garlic & herb
&
the very popular chicken tikka masala with rice

we tried a lot more but unfortunately i cannot remember the names...
lentils... eggplant... a sweet carrot and corn dish...
i did not dislike anything i tried...
it was all very good!

so fun to try new things!
great recommendation ashley!!!!

jonesetta...

one sunday afternoon trip to grandma and grandpa martindales and this is his new name....
jonesetta...
(named by grandma martindale)

with a purse, necklaces, high heels and a mouth full of mike and ikes he sauntered around the house...

comments while he sauntered...

jason... "he needs some more men in his life"

poor boy misses his daddy...

marla... "i'm tougher than any marine"

it takes a confident boy to walk around like this...

everyone else... "laughing"

...and he very much enjoyed wearing his golden grahams box "hat" just as much as he enjoyed eating them with grandpa... animal style...

dont you just love sunday afternoons!!!...

and of course we had to shake it while at grandma and grandpas...
ps... sorry it is side ways...

hello september...

hello treasures...
so i have been wanting a vintage bag for temple trips... and when i told my mom what i was looking for...

she said;
"you mean like my old bag?"
i said;
"yeah, exactly... i love that thing and always have!!!"

...and then she gave it to me!!!!

thanks mom!!!

so... although i would still love to find a garment bag for my dress... i am so in love with my new old vintage temple bag...
and fun part is that it really is vintage and even better.... my great grandma gave it to my mom and now she gave it to me!
i heart it so much!!!!

....................
something funny that i just remembered...
i have been told this a few times in the past few days...

"you were in mexico too long"*

why it was said reason number one:
one of my favorite chocolates is dark chocolate with chipotle chili in it... so good!
or

why it was said reason number two:
jones was eating hot tamales, jalapeno poppers after dark dorito chips & mexican layered bean dip pringles... and then begging for more... the kid will eat anything spicy... and loves it...

*i cant speak for all latinos, but as for mexicans... they love their chili... it goes on everything... from fruit to popsicles to shakes... everything... i dont agree with all of it... but they do know a little something about chili... yum!!!
